KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

A few days ago, an international conference on the topic of “Critical Approaches of Armenian Identity in the 21st century; vulnerability, resilience and transformation” was organized in Istanbul.

The Head of the ASPU Chair of Armenian New and Modern Literature and its Teaching Methods, Director of the “Spyurq”(Diaspora) Resource Centre Souren Danielyan participated together with the forty delegates from Armenia.

During the conference organized by the “Hrand Dinck” Organization, Swedish Academy, “Galust Kyulpenkyan” Union, “Nationwide” Armenian Educational and Cultural Union, the Professor particularly discussed the vulnerability of identity issues in Armenia.

What is more, during the meeting Souren Danielyan visited the Gedronakan Armenian High School, where he met the students, ran a lesson during which he had an opportunity to talk about peculiarities of the Pedagogical University in Armenia, the mission of an Armenian teacher, as well as invited the high –school students to study at the ASPU.

Likewise, in his interview to the old.aspu.am Souren Danielyan confessed that he was pleasantly surprised with the spontaneous interest among the students thereof.
