Student conference held at Faculty of Foreign Languages

The first student research conference entitled “Foreign Languages: Theory and Practice” was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University on May 5.

The conference initiated by the Chair of Germanic Languages brought together 13 BA and MA students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Professor Elena Mkhitaryan, Head of the Chair of Germanic Languages, welcomed the conference participants on behalf of the teaching staff. She assured everyone that the conference would be held every year and would expand the realm of participants. She said such initiatives ensure new qualitative changes in linguistics and foreign language teaching methods. Elena Mkhitaryan expressed her satisfaction with the selected themes and said they covered pragmalinguistics, theoretical grammar, lexicology, as well as foreign language teaching methods.

During the conference, the students presented the results of the research and analyses they carried out in linguistics and foreign language teaching methods, as well their arguments about the best practices.

Each of the reports was uniquely efficient as it revealed the level of students' theoretical knowledge and foreign language proficiency.
Summing up the results of the conference, Elena Mkhitaryan highly assessed the scientific level of the presented reports, importance and relevance of the themes, the way of presentation, and promised to recommend the best reports for publication in different journalists of the republic.
