Student exhibition opens at Global Bridge Educational Centre

An exhibition of creative works of students of the Faculty of Primary Education opened at the Global Bridge Educational Centre on February 4.

The exhibition was organized within the frame of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of ASPU which were launched at School N135 after Gagik Stepanyan and continued in other schools of Yerevan.

The ASPU representatives, including lecturers and students, were welcomed with great enthusiasm. By the way, many of the school teachers are ASPU graduates.

Once again emphasizing the importance of cooperation between universities and schools, Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Heghine Khachatryan presented the history of the Pedagogical University that has a history of one hundred years and stressed that many of the teachers who impart knowledge, personal qualities and values to children at the educational conplex are graduates of the Pedagogical University.

“Among the authors of the exhibited works, you may come across the names of your teachers and parents who graduated from ASPU. Not only the works of current students, but also the works of students of different years are exhibited in this symbolic exhibition dedicated to the founding of the University,” Heghine Khachatryan said.

She added that the exhibition is one of the best manifestations of university-school partnerships, and expressed hope that part of the pupils will later choose to study at the Faculty whose students’ works decorate the walls of the educational complex.

By the way, students of the Faculty specializing in Pedagogy and Methodology of Elementary Education gave “A” letters and bookmarks [made by them] to pupils. The latter painted them with the colours they wanted. They will keep the gifts as reminders of the day.

Let us add that the works of students of Associate Professor Zhanna Khachatryan are supplemented with new ones every time.

More than 80 exhibits, including paintings, drawings, decorative works and plasterwork are displayed at the centre which will remain on the walls till the next exhibition.

The students of the Pedagogical University are sure that ‘the exhibition serves its purpose and helps schoolchildren get closer to art.’

Later, ASPU representatives walked around the Global Bridge educational complex, talked to pedagogues about education and the problems of the centre, and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.

The event was accompanied by artistic performances of schoolchildren.
