Today, the Pedagogical University welcomed the students of the “Salvation” NGO with their performance headed “Spring, Easter, Motherhood”.
The aim of the event organized within the scope of the World Down Syndrome Day was to encourage the Centre’s students and the society to once again inform that children with different mental problems too, may perform a diversity of presentations on the stage.
First of all, the students of the Centre made a performance about the Easter holiday which was followed by musical presentations congratulating on women’s holidays all implemented with the assistance of the students of the Faculty of Special Education.
The Head of the Chair of Special Pedagogy and Psychology Robert Azaryan was sorry to notice that although children with various mental syndromes were still born, but the society and the Pedagogical University, in particular, were trying to change the daily routine of people with such problems by the organization of such initiatives and to make them full members of the society.
“The performance once again proved what people with mental retardation are capable of when there is a willingness to work with them”, mentioned the Director of the Salvation Centre Arpinei Abrahamyan and once again urged those present to equally accept them.
In addition, Arpinei Abrahamyan expressed her acknowledgments to the APSU for welcoming them again, as well as thanked for educating knowledgeable students responsible for their profession.
What is more, the students of the Faculty of Special Education are spending their pedagogical internship in that very Centre.
