Second-year students of the Faculty of Educational Psychology and Sociology of the Pedagogical University presented the methods they had developed to the teaching staff of the Chair of Pedagogy within the framework of the "Pedagogical Communication and Ethnopedagogy" discipline.
Arusyak Hovhannisyan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, said the "Methodology" package consisting of 21 methods does not have a prototype. After studying different methods, students have created their own, clearly showing the objective, process and outcome,” she stressed.
Social pedagogues say that the methods developed by them – “The five-finger method", "The rays of the sun", "One of the four", "The seasons of the year" and others are aimed at activating group work and interactive learning, and making lessons more interesting and effective, accessible and easy for learners.
They are confident that the methods in question can develop and sharpen students' logical thinking, critical analysis skills, abilities to cooperate, create and do research, and better memory.
Professor Aida Topuzyan, Head of the Chair of Pedagogy, stated that all the presented methods are aimed at developing skills in the 21st century; the students have done a good job by setting the right objectives and outcomes.
"You should be able to identify the shortcomings and challenges of the methods you have created and be the first to apply them," added Aida Topuzyan.
The professor advised the students to develop similar methods for their profession as well: they are usually used both by schoolchildren and students.
Summing up the results, the head of the Chair of Pedagogy expressed her satisfaction with the joint work of the students and the lecturer, adding that the methods they have developed can become material for printing.
