From 16-19 May, within the framework of the European Union Project TEMPUS ESPAQ /Increasing Students Involvement in Quality Assurance Processes (QA) at Higher Educational Institutions/ the ASPU Head of the Department of Academic Affairs Hasmik Arackelyan and the Senior Specialist of the Chair of Philosophy and Logic Satenik Kouzanyan made a study visit to the international University of La Rioja in Madrid /UNIR/.
During the visit reports were presented accompanied by practical activities. Their aim was to introduce the participants with the QA system in Spain, the services provided to students, to inform them about the quality processes of e-learning courses, monitoring and samples of quality indexes, as well as self-assessment, assessment processes and ensuring students’ participation.
From 16 May, the participants got familiarized with the operational specifications of the UNIR as one of the leading higher educational institutions providing only distant-learning, including the technical and contextual features of distant learning.
In order to get acquainted with the organizational work, a tour was organised at the University’s administrative building.
On the second and third days of the study visit the example of the VERIFICA education quality process implementation of the ANECA national organization was introduced at the UNIR, which implied completely new formation of the postgraduate programme and presentation of accreditation.
Likewise, through a role play the participants drafted a programme and submitted it for accreditation.
On the last day of the study visit, again through a role play the postgraduate programme accredited during the role play on the second day was once again evaluated.
The participants were divided into specialist- expert, observer, and student groups; after the role play the results of four business days were discussed and summarized.
