Study visit in the frames of Erasmus+ PROVE Project 

A study visit was held from 11 to 15 May within the framework of the Erasmus+ Promoting Values Education in Higher Education in the South Caucasus (PROVE) Project.

The visit was organized by the project’s EU partner Association for Values and Knowledge Education /AVaKE/, Salzburg, Austria, and was attended by representatives of Armenian, Georgian, and European partner universities.

The goal was to deepen the participants' theoretical and practical knowledge of value-based education, and to introduce them to the methods and tools which will be used to develop courses.

Joining the educational visit from ASPU were Marine Matosyan, Deputy Dean for Science and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Mariana Avetisyan, Acting Head of the Chair of Applied Psychology, and Gohar Arakelyan, a chief specialist of the Center for International Cooperation and Project Management.

The results of needs assessment surveys conducted in Armenia and Georgia were presented during the meetings. The participants also visited the Salzburg Peace Office, which is actively engaged in the areas of peace education, conflict resolution, and social cohesion.

As the participants said later the visit created a platform to assess and revalue the applicability of value-based approaches not only in the educational system, but also in broader public engagement processes.

Also, a program coordination meeting was held on the sidelines of the visit which summed up the work done in the past six months and discussed the steps of the next work package.

Let us add that Telavi State University is the coordinator of the three-year project (PROVE).
