The final conference on the internship of the 2nd -3rd year Social Pedagogy students of the Faculty of Education Psychology was held by the initiative of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy.
Within the scope of this initiative the students thoroughly presented the content of their placards headed “A letter to soldiers”, “The World in our palms”, “Mother Spring”, “A man’s name and work”, “Monte Melkonyan”, “A piece of practice”, etc., familiarized with the events organized during the educational-cognitive internship, made the summary thereabout accompanied by illustrated presentations.
Each of the leaders of the internship groups introduced the individual and team activities accomplished at the internship places – School N124 after Nerses Mets, School N5 after Mushegh Ishkhan and the FAR children support center; the activities included open discussion lessons, games, seminar discussions, social-pedagogical and entertainment events.
In the course of the internship the student organized activities during which certain issues were raised particularly referring to the introduction of inclusive education in the educational system, its advantages and disadvantages, effectiveness, achievements and gaps, as well as spoke about the four-day war in April to raise the national spirit and the force to fight among younger generation, to encourage patriotism.
The future pedagogues agreed that the six-week internship had been full of positive and expected results; it contributed to the process of professional capacity building, concentrating on various situations, and some of them expressed interest to voluntarily work in educational institutions even after the internship.
In her turn, the Head of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy Aida Topuzyan summarized the activity by highlighting the importance of internships stating that it gave opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, to analyze personal capacities and merit of the title of a pedagogue.
Likewise, the Head of the Chair highlighted that being a pedagogue requires a number of subtleties; one must be endowed with a number of personal and professional features, put in soul and spirit into the work.
“There is a lot to be done in the area of internships; I greatly emphasize the fact that the didactic material prepared by the students will serve as methodological basis for lecturers and interns and will be used in the learning process.”
Furtheron, the Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education Heghinei Khachatryan listened to the students’ speeches and made a suggestion to have schools where specialists, studying in different faculties, can have their internships all at the same time; this will be particularly effective and aimed at supplementing to the mutual experience.
To sum up, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology Lida Aramyan added that as a direct participant of the internship process she realized that it endowed students with new qualities and a number of professional skills.
