The participants of the Summer School 2017 project were also received by Ara Gevorgyan, Head of the Chair of Music of the ASPU Faculty of Culture, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia, canon player Hasmik Leyloyan and duduk player Hrachik Nazaryan, both professors at the same Chair.
The students got acquainted with the history of folk instruments and then enjoyed the live performances of the guests.
“I was surprised and at the same time pleased to be hosted by Ara Gevorgyan. It was really a great honor [for me], because his works can never be considered outdated,” said Pavel Nasterenko, a student of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education. He added that he had just learnt that Ara Gevorgyan was the author of a number of works so well known too him.
On the 7th day of the programme, the participants were taken to Lake Sevan and the monastery of Sevanavank. Svetlana Kochetkova, a student from Moscow, says before arriving in Armenia she was told that the country does not have a sea but now she became convinced that Lake Sevan is a real miracle.
The student of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank (BSPU) adds that Armenia has picturesque nature and hospitable people.
At the end of the day, the students played different games at the ASPU training centre in Aghavnadzor. The boys competed in football and the girls in volleyball.
