Summer School for Young Scientist was Launched

Summer school headed “Contemporary Education Issues” for young scientists from a number of institutions of the RA, NKR and RF was launched at the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

The project undertaken by the initiative of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy and by the support of the ASPU, the RA MES Committee of Science is aimed at actual problems in the education sector highlighted by young scientists, giving solutions and making suggestions, dissemination of the world pedagogical mind, spreading the best practice and enriching.

The ASPU Vice –Rector for Academic Affairs Srbouhi Gevorgyan emphasized the start of the project assuring that the University pays particular attention to the issue of preparing young professionals and programmes aimed at supporting them.

“The project will provide assistance in thoroughly examining contemporary issues of education, establishing an international team of young professionals, having exchange of experience”, mentioned the Vice Rector adding that the importance of preparing young professionals was also highlighted in the University’s strategic plan.

The RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan recalled the scarce technical conditions and large scope of scientific achievements during the years of Soviet Union in his speech expressing hope that Armenia, known for numerous tangible scientific achievements will register new scientific results and hold its honorary place among the leading counties in the 21st century as well.

“If every young person realized the necessity of developing the pedagogical mind in Armenia and tried to achieve it, would do a great service for the homeland”, stated the Deputy Minister urging the young scientists to take up that duty.

Afterwards, the Academician of the RA National Academy of Science Eduard Ghazaryan also outlined in his speech the significance of arranging such a project and shared with the young scientists his principles of achieving success, such as never losing the ability to be surprised, having extreme diligence to achieve success and being in the right place at the right time.

Moreover, the Academician is sure that the Pedagogical University is of utmost importance for the country as the state security depends on teachers.

“Globalisation, integration to the Bologna process, social –political situation is continuous and people’s understanding of importance of learning during the whole life brings forward new challenges for the higher education, and the pedagogical Education in particular”, stated the Vice President of the State Committee of Science of the RA Ministry of Education and Science Vardan Sahakyan and passed on the greetings from the President of the Committee Samvel Harutyunyan.

Likewise, Vardan Sahakyan informed the young people about the EU funded Project “Horizon 2020” on using studies and innovations recently signed by the Minister of ES in Brussels and called for their active participation.

In fact the project gives a chance to the representatives of the sphere of studies and innovations in Armenia to get the use of all opportunities provided by the project in various fields starting from fundamental scientific sphere up to demonstrative initiatives in conditions foreseen for the EU member states and other associated partnership countries.

The official opening ceremony of the summer school was followed by master class sessions, online lecturing, defence of copyright lectures, and debates. This is a three day initiative and will last till 22 June.
