“Summer School” International Project Kicked-Off

The International project “Summer School 2017”, jointly implemented by the Armenian Youth Foundation and the ASPU Student Council, kicked off at the Pedagogical University’s academic and sports base in Aghavnadzor.

In the current year, in addition to the students of the ASPU, those from the University’s international partner establishments, particularly from Lithuania, Hungary, Belarus, Russian Federation and the Republic of Artsakh, are participating in the Project that has been organized for already the fifth time.
Just like every year, the programme is quite rich consisting of cognitive visits, discussions, meetings and games.

Many of the foreign participants of the international students project are visiting Armenia for the first time, but they are convinced of the fact that thanks to the students of the host University they are going to love the country with its ancient history and Armenian atmosphere.

“The most exciting part of international projects is the students’ get-togethers, the opportunity to communicate with and to learn from each other. Despite nationality everybody understand one another, make friends and try to establish close relationship”, mentioned the Armenian student of the Pushkin StateRussian Language Institute Lilit Movsisyan in her interview to the old.aspu.am; in fact, she had already previously visited her motherland several times.

As opposite, the student of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Ida Viragini was on her first visit to Armenia. Just before arriving to our country she had managed to meet the prior year project participants.

The Hungarian student confessed that her University fellow students had been extremely impressed with their visit to Armenia and with the project in general based on which she also got interested in discovering Armenia and Armenians.

During the ten-day summer school the participants will be introduced with the higher education system of Armenia, particularly the pedagogical activities developed by the University, as well as they will get familiarized with the history of Armenia, and the local students life.

“The international project “Summer School” is also important from the intercultural perspective; the foreign students visiting Armenia have the chance to get familiarized with representatives of other cultures, their history and traditions through visits and open discussion lessons. This project is a wonderful method to overcome the linguistic barrier and to have mutual exchange of experience”, the Head of the ASPU Department of International Relations Christina Tsaturyan mentioned during her conversation with the old.aspu.am.

What is more, the project will have plenty of diverse sports, cultural and leisure events, as well as visits to picturesque and historical sites of Armenia.
At the end of the visit, the students are going to demonstrate the film that they created about Armenia, Armenian youth, their trip and the “Summer School” project.

We would also like to mention that 77 students are participating in the “Summer School- 2017” including those coming from the Pázmány Péter Catholic University of Hungary, Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University, the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, the Artsakh State University, and the Pedagogical University.
