T4GREEN project participants introduced to European experience in teacher education

On September 9-13, within the framework of the Erasmus+ T4GREEN /Transforming Teacher Education for Green and Digital Transition in Armenia and Moldova/ project, University of Beira Interior (UBI) in Portugal hosted more than 40 representatives of the partner universities and organizations from Armenia, Moldova, the Czech Republic and Spain.

The aim of the visit was to familiarize the participants, both at national and institutional levels, with the experience in teacher education at the EU partner universities of the project: Masaryk University (the Czech Republic), the University of Valladolid (Spain) and the University of Beira Interior (Portugal).

Marianna Harutyunyan, Coordinator of the T4GREEN project, Vice-Rector for Human Resources and International Cooperation at Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) made an opening speech during the five-day training.

Welcoming the participants, she presented the goals and objectives of the T4GREEN project, emphasized its key role in Armenia and Moldova, stressing that it is consistent with the ongoing reforms in the education sector in both countries.

"The program is being implemented at the national level, and the outcomes will best contribute to the implementation of national goals in general education. The Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia is a partner of the project and supports its implementation. the presence of Deputy Minister Araksia Svajyan is evidence of it," Marianna Harutyunyan said.

The program participants discussed a number of important topics, including teacher education policies and practices in Europe, development of STE(A)M education, as well as successful examples of education reforms in the EU.

The participation of former Minister of Education of Portugal, João Costa, in the event made the training even more interesting. The former official presented a topic entitled "Development of Teacher Education Policies.”
At the end of the visit, the participants discussed the main achievements of the training and further actions.
