Teachers from the Diaspora Visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex

The first day of around sixty teachers from 17 countries of the Armenian Diaspora, who are attending training sessions at the Pedagogical University, was marked with a visit to the Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex to commemorate 1.5 million innocent victims.

This was a historical trip for the teachers coming from the Armenian Diaspora; many of them were visiting the Genocide Memorial Complex for the first time.

At first they laid a wreath at the Memorial Complex, after which they paid the tribute to the memory of the victims around the eternal fire, and finalised the trip with a visit to the Genocide museum- institute.

Historical documentary files, photos, exhibits, etc.- the teachers were telling one another in an affected way about their dynasty’s wandering- tragic and collective biographies trying to recall how many of them had actually survived, and how many were left on the roads.

The Russian and Romanian students, who had pursued the path of recognizing Armenia, were attending the history classes with particular interest; the latter were making their first steps in mastering Armenian language and culture at the “Spyurq” [Diaspora] educational centre.

The students agreed that the days’ impressions were unforgettable and they would be long contemplating over them.
