KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Recently, the leadership of the State Museum of Fine Arts of Shushi sent a letter of acknowledgement to the teaching staff of the Faculty of Art Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU). The museum was destroyed during the 44-day war in Artsakh in 2020; unique and high-value artworks disappeared from the territory during the war.

A number of professors of the Faculty of Art Education have responded to the request of the museum leadership to donate their works to the newly reopened museum. The reopening ceremony is scheduled to be held in Stepanakert on September 2.

“Your donations are a unique expression of sympathetic attitude towards the future of Artsakh. It will greatly contribute to not only the revival of the museum, but also to the upbringing and development of aesthetic taste of future generations, to the creation of a healthy spiritual and cultural environment in Artsakh which is being reborn from the ruins” the letter reads in part.

Let us remind that in 2021 ten lecturers of the Faculty donated their works to the gallery operating in the centre of Stepanakert.
