Today, the last expanded Board session of the year was held at the Pedagogical University, which commenced with the selection of the ASPU Board Chairman; the President of the RA NA Galust Sahakyan was selected in a an open ballot for a five year’s term.
In his turn, Mr. Galust Sahakyan expressed acknowledgements for the trust entrusted in him expressing readiness to continue the daily work to support the Pedagogical University in having serious competitive preconditions in the sphere.
“Despite the fact, what position and role I have in the political sphere, for me this is the environment where I feel better and more proud and I am glad that an opportunity was provided to directly participate in education management”, mentioned the Board Chairman Galust Sahakyan and expressed his hope that the University would continue participating in various programmes trying to keep safe the national ideology and language.
Moreover, Galust Sahakyan is assured that reforms are particularly required in the University system.
The Board members watched the film about the activities in 2015, after which the ASPU Rector Rouben Mirzakhanyan spoke about the issues and upcoming activities, as well as presented to the Board members the draft budget for 2016.
“With our daily work we pursue new aims; it is a major issue to organize international certifications during three years that require specific means and huge work. In the university teaching system new methods continue being introduced by the application of modern technologies trying to be in line with contemporary educational reforms”, the Rector of the Pedagogical University Rouben Mirzakhanyan highlighted that the new teaching methods had primary significance for the University.
In addition, the Rector introduced the process of research activities held at the University mentioning the importance of newly created laboratories and educational studies in Chess the activities of which aim at improving the education quality at schools.
Similarly, Rouben Mirzakhanyan expressed his acknowledgements to the Board Chairman Galust Sahakyan and the Minister of ES Armen Ashotyan for the greater interest in the University and its daily life.
The Board members unanimously approved the budget plan for 2016; in his turn, Galust Sahakyan evaluated the work done during the current year as satisfactory expressing hope that the upcoming year would be one of the best for the University.
