From 28 March to 9 April, the 1st international intercollegiate art competition –festival “Youth Cooperation” took place in Moscow.
The pedagogical University also participated in the festival organized by the initiative of the Moscow Artists Union, Faculty of Fine Arts and Graphics of the Art Institute and the Moscow State Pedagogical University.
During the festival 11 works by the ASPU students of the Faculty of Art Education were exhibited; the work “Hayuhi” [Armenian Girl] by the MA student Seda Poghosyan received Grand Prix in the nomination “Decorative –Applied Art”.
Similarly, A. Babayan, A. Poghosyan, M. Sahakyan, A. Hovhannisyan won prizes and received participation certificates in the same nomination.
What is more, a round table discussion on the topic of “Artistic Education at High-Schools” was organized within the scope of the competition-festival. The Pedagogical University’s students Seda Poghosyan and Mariam Sahakyan presented their reports on the subjects of “Renaissance of the Armenian Textile Art” and “Art-Therapy through Tapestry”; the reports interested those present to a great extent.
The jury of the competition –festival held in Moscow also included the ASPU Head of the Chair of Design and Decorative –Applied Art, Professor Anush Yeghiazaryan.
In her interview to the old.aspu.am, the Professor highlighted the importance of the cooperation with the Moscow Sate Pedagogical University, and mentioned that the festival brought together talented young people, contributed to the communication among various nations and cultures.
“I am assured that it will be the start of new discoveries, familiarize the young people with the works of creators, contribute to the exchange of interesting ideas, and will overall enrich the creative life of young artists”.
Within the scope of the trip to Moscow Anoush Yeghiazaryan delivered a lecture by the invitation of the Moscow State University after M. Lomonosov where she presented an essay about the history of the Armenian textile art.
