To begin with, Rouben Mirzakhanyan traditionally congratulated those who had anniversaries in the current month, after which granted the Academic Degree Certificates to Armen Arustamyan as a Professor, Knarik Hovhannisyan, Gagik Karapetyan and Liana Gevorgyan as Associate Professors.
Winners of the Rouben Sevak Prize are Announced
The Head of the Chair of Armenian Modern and New Literature and its Teaching Methods, Professor Souren Danielyan presented the result of the competition that was being held already the third year, noticing though that in the current year 18 works were received from 7 Faculties of the University and from one pupil of the ASPU secondary school for the competitions of works analyzing Rouben Sevak’s biography, public activities and higher levels of literary works.
“We should consider the young people’s spontaneous representative attitude of universal love and affection towards the phenomenon of Sevak, and the permanent values”, mentioned Professor Danielyan and added that particularly tough competitive nature could be highlighted in the works, together with the versatile curiosity of studnets.
In accordance with the given criteria, the first prize was not awarded; instead, the second prizes were given to 2 students from the Faculty of Philology Zhanna Nikoghosyan and Lilit Danielyan, and the third prize went to the distant-learning student of the same Faculty Hasmik Hakobyan, and an encouraging prize was granted to the student of the Faculty of Primary Education, Lusineh Abrahamyan.
Information Technologies at the University
The Vice –Rector for Personnel Matters and International Cooperation Ara Yeremyan introduced the draft decision about the setting of information technologies at the ASPU and the ongoing activities in these regards. Speaking about the completed work, the Vice-Rector added that they were deriving from the strategic plan and that permanent monitoring was being conducted in that area. Likewise, the Vice-Rector thoroughly presented the newly created automated system for educational processes together with all of its module, after which he referred to the technical equipment of the whole territory of the University, their significant role in the teaching processes, and activities aimed at replenishing the technologies at the APSU. Besides, Ara Yeremyan spoke about the use of media technologies at the University, particularly highlighting the official website at the www.old.aspu.am, the First University Radio Fama at www.radiofama.am, the “Success Formula” program, other webpages/ social media pages about the existing educational reforms, international cooperation initiativesand many other centers. The latter also assured that they ensure not only the transparency of the University, but also the transparency and accessibility of the APSU processes and procedures for wider public.
The members of the Academic Board took the notice of the draft decision on information technologies.
Elections
The members of the Academic Board granted Academic Degrees of Associate Professors to candidates nominated in a closed ballot – Anna Arakelyan, Gayaneh Harutyunyan, Rubina Harutyunyan, and Romik Kocharyan.
Furthermore, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Rita Gevorgyan was selected as the Head of the Chair of Economics and Management by the Academic Board in a closed ballot, as well as Doctor of Geography, Professor Karineh Danielyan was selected as the Head of the Chair of Ecology and Sustainable Development, the RA People’s Artists, Professor Armen Elbakyan was selected as the Head of the Chair of Direction, and Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Hasmik Harutyunyan was selected as the Head of the Chair of Philosophy and Logic.
Current Matters
The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Srbouhi Gevorgyan submitted the topics of Candidate dissertations, as well as books proposed for publication for the approval of the Academic Board.
