An event entitled “The Call of the Blood” was organized at Armenian State Pedagogical University with the participation of freshmen of the Department of Elementary Education and Methodology and pupils of the ASPU Base College.
During the event, future educators and pupils leafed through the pages of history and assured everyone that Armenians have always fought to defend their right to live in freedom.
They also presented the heroic path of ASPU representatives in various wars, which is proved by facts and written in golden letters in the history of the University.
“The generation of 1915 will never let history repeat itself because our victories were blessed by the blood they shed,” the students said adding that ASPU representatives had always been worried about the future of their country and were among the first to go to the battlefield and fight for the freedom of their nation.
The students think that the past events have corrected the history and restored the truth: we only need to preserve everything and keep alive the memory of martyrs who fell defending our homeland. “They fought against death with their lives.”
The future teachers believe that an Armenian soldier goes to war armed with great faith in the history and victory. The contemporaries of the four-day war in Karabakh in April 2016 became convinced that history repeats itself: the army and people have been and remain the only ally of Armenia.
In their speeches, the students gave the names of ASPU representatives who had participated in different wars and added that they considered it their mission to transfer the story of their deeds and heroism to future generations, stating that ‘they died a hero's death to bring peace to every hearth.’
The event was organized by Armine Yeprikyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Armenian History. She considers the event to be a patriotic lesson for future form masters. She believes that future teachers must be armed with the right knowledge to be effective and competent in their work and to make sure that future generations are in good hands.
“The event proved once again that women shoulder the responsibility of patriotic upbringing,” said Head of the ASPU Library Tigran Petrosyants. He added that though the University had a large number of participants in various wars, it is not as important as the fact that the nation unites every time around the same idea and goal – to have one homeland.
