KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

A creative soirée organized by Lilya Khachatryan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Music Pedagogy at the Faculty of Art Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) was held recently. The event entitled "To My Teacher" was dedicated to the 105th birth anniversary of Anna Ambakumyan, Honoured Art Worker of Armenia, Professor at the Komitas State Conservatory, a pianist, and public figure.

The soirée was attended by representatives of the sphere, music lovers, lecturers, and students. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy classical piano and vocal pieces. The attendees were deeply impressed by Lilya Khachatryan’s performance of the piano works by Komitas, Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin; she proved that she is a worthy student of her teacher and today she herself teaches numerous students.

ASPU students Tatevik Movsesyan and Ruben Karaseferyan performed vocal works by Lilya Khachatryan and famous authors.

During the event, Lilya Khachatryan ‘took the audience’ to her student years, recalled the renowned and distinguished professors she is indebted to for her education, and spoke about her professional and teaching activity.

At the end of the concert, the pianist received a standing ovation which proved once again that the best example of remembering and honouring teachers is to organize similar events.
