Training seminar-simulation for a modern community

Three-day workshop series and simulation games conducted by the CIVIC - Institute for international Education in cooperation with the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (IFA) started at Armenian State Pedagogical University. The seminar is entitled “Our Community! Debate and Negotiate for Interests and Compromises.”

On November 8, German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler attended the workshop financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the application of interactive methods in the area of the European civic education.

The ambassador stressed the importance of cooperation between the structure and the ASPU Faculty of History and Law and expressed confidence that the seminar would serve its purpose in the process of establishment of civil society.

During the event, participants were enabled to receive a deeper understanding of European socio-political connections, society and society processes from different perspectives, the seminar also stimulated active participation and protection of interests for real acting.

Edgar Hovhannisyan, Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, stressed the need for localization of international experience at the Armenian university, stressing that the series of three-day courses and simulation games was another important step for a developing university.

Talking to old.aspu.am, Ani Ohanian, a representative of the CIVIC - Institute for international Education, said various programmes are implemented in the education sector. Their goal is to present [through education] democratic values in Eastern Europe. She added that the three-day course with the participation of students and lecturers will help participants understand that the new methods are much easier to apply in the learning process.

Upon the completion of the seminar on November 9, participants will receive certificates of participation on a full attendance basis.
