Translation contest: Students translate works of Russian writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya

Another literary event, organised by the Chair of Foreign Literature of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University.

It aimed to summarize the results of a competition that was announced in advance. The participants were to translate the works of Lyudmila Ulitskaya, a modern Russian novelist and short-story writer, into Armenian.

2nd and 4th year students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages majoring in Russian Language and Literature participated in the competition. The jury included Head of the Chair of Foreign Literature, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ruzan Tadevosyan, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Tigran Mikaelyan, Candidate of Science in Philology, Associate Professor Inna Sarkisyan, and Candidate of Science in Philology, Associate Professor Christine Bejanyan. They selected the best three works whose authors were Silva Gevorgyan, Mariam Ayvazyan and Teny Harutyunyan.

During the event, Silva Gevorgyan and Mary Hovhannisyan presented interesting information about the biography and creative work of the contemporary Russian writer.

All participants received certificates and books at the end of the competition.
