Visiting a Medical Centre within the Framework of Trainings

Within the scope of training programmes jointly organized with the UNICEF and headed “Strengthening Mitigation of Disaster Risks in the ASPU Curriculum” the lecturers of the University paid a visit to the Yerevan medical Centre after Saint Griqor Lusavorich to support their theoretical knowledge in practice.

 The Head of the Substation N5 of the emergency service of the medical centre Anushavan Virabyan thoroughly introduced the forms and methods of providing first medical aid in various situations strictly emphasizing teaching the relevant knowledge concerning urgent medical aid, as well as development of the necessary self- assistance and mutual assistance skills. 

  Likewise, during the trainings they got familiarized with the forms of rescue and urgent recovery treatments, acquired relevant knowledge on arranging and providing assistance to the victims of disasters.

 In his interview to the old.aspu.am the Head of the Department of First Medical Aid, Emergency Situations and Civil Protection Hakob Grigoryan highlighted the importance of organizing practical classes assuring that the trainees had more realistic ideas on how to reduce the number of irrecoverable losses in emergency situations and providing urgent assistance.

 We would also like to mention that the lecturers trained within the framework of the programme on “Strengthening Disasters Risks Mitigation in the ASPU Curriculum” jointly organized with the UNICEF got familiarized with the scope of the system processes and functions which aimed at increasing the skills and practical abilities of participants in surviving disasters.

 The participants received theoretical knowledge on various signals of emergency situations, analysed disaster cases, its causes; in addition, forms of urgent medical aid were also demonstrated.
