Within the scope of professional orientation, the Head of the Chair of Theory and History of Psychology of the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, Doctor of Psychology, Professor Mels Mkrtumyan and Associate Professor of the Chair, Candidate of Psychology Arakel Hovhannisyan visited the high-schools N5 and N10 of Vagharshapat, Armavir region.
During the visit they introduced the Faculties of the University, the Faculty of Education Psychology and Sociology, in particular, and spoke about the meaning of Psychology among the sciences studying human personality.
On this occasion the pupils got familiarized with the specialisations offered at the Faculty, the admissions procedure, peculiarities of organizing the learning process in compliance with the modern educational requirements.
The field specialists, in their turn, highlighted the role of psychologists, social pedagogues, sociologists and social workers in today’s society.
Further on, the Professor Mels Mkrtumyan invited the pupils to the University noticing that therein they will be able to attend lectures, practical activities, which will enable them to better imagine the selected profession and the learning process.
To conclude, it should be mentioned that such meetings will be of continuous nature, and on April 4 professional visits will be arranged to several high-schools in Ararat region as well.
