The awards ceremony of the “Best Student 2022” competition has been held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. The event was attended by ESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan, rectors and students.
Zhanna Andreasyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and Chair of the Board of Trustees at ASPU, handed over certificates to students with excellent academic performance.
Congratulating the best students of the country, the minister emphasized that the prize is a reason for pride, but at the same time it is binding. Zhanna Andreasyan said that she was also awarded the title of “The Best Student of the Year” while she was studying at university.
"You realize that you can be an example for other students. you feel a great responsibility for your behavior which should be typical of the best student. Each of us chooses to value the importance of this award. How you will use this small success on the way to big success depends on your personal and individual perception of the prize. The award will also give you confidence. It is not only an assessment of knowledge, but also an assessment of you as a citizen, which is one of the important components of this competition," she stressed.
The minister wished that the victory be an incentive for the the students to move forward and have new achievements in their career path. "I'm sure that each of you has already proved that the results of today's competition are not accidental and unfair. I hope you will continue in the same spirit," Zhanna Andreasyan said.
Let's add that the competition is held in the following fields: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Armenology (Armenian Studies), Humanities, Medicine, Engineering, Culture and Sports, in intra-university and inter-university (republic) stages and under bachelor's and master's educational programs.
Overall, 33 students from different universities won the competition. They received nominal scholarships and gifts by the Ministry.
Mary Arakelyan and Karlen Nazaryan, 4th and 2nd year students of the Faculty of Philology of ASPU, took 2nd and 3rd prizes in Armenian studies. Gor Meliksetyan, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of Art Education, came 3rd in Culture and Sports.
The future philologist was surprised to see her name among the winners. The victory is binding. She understands that regardless of the obstacles on the way to success, one should not give up and stop. For a long time, she has been guided by Dale Carnegie's famous word: If the elevator to success is out of order, you'll have to use the stairs, one step at a time.”
Let us add that 13 students came first in the “Best Student” competition, receiving a scholarship of AMD 458.000 each. Twelve students who took second prize received AMD 348.000 and finally, the eight third-prize winners received AMD 233.000.
