Today, the results of male and female interfaculty competition in different sports were summarized at the Pedagogical University.
In the course of ten days teams of the ASPU ten Faculties, School 57, and the Base (High-School) College competed in football, volleyball, chess, table tennis and shooting demonstrating brilliant sports results and enthusiasm for participation in sports games.
The Rector of the Pedagogical University Rouben Mirzakhanyan congratulated all participants of the tournament, the winning teams, as well as the Student Council and the Chair of Chess and Sports that organized the tournament and strongly emphasized the importance thereof, and contribute to the University’s achievements in sports.
“We extremely highlight the importance of various sports at the University; in any university, where the physical education is on solid grounds, the whole academic process is successful”, mentioned the Rector and expressed hope that the competition will become a tradition and bring new achievements and triumphs to the University.
In addition, the winners of the tournament were also congratulated by the Head of the Chair of Chess and Sports Mr. Smbat Lputyan defining it as a true celebration for the sport-loving students.
“Unified fight is the guarantee for triumph; stay unified and turn the tournament into a holiday every year”.
During the solemn closing event of the interfaculty tournament diplomas and cups were awarded to the male and female teams of football, volleyball, chess, table-tennis and shooting.
Likewise, the faculties that had the highest results in team competitions also received award cups; the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography won the third prize with the highest results, the Base (High-School) College won the second prize, and the first prize was awarded to the Faculty of Culture.
And last but not least, the female volleyball teams and together with the coach Zara Petrosyan were granted acknowledgement notes for winning the intercollegiate cup a few days ago.
