The results of the Olympiad organised by the initiative of the ASPU Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy have been summarised.
This year pupils of high schools including 54 participants from the Yerevan Secondary School N104, the Lernanist Secondary School after S. Nazaryan, School N189 after S. Gevorgyan, the school of Vayk and the ASPU Secondary school participated in the Olympiad, held annually.
Upon summarising the results, the first prize among the high school pupils was awarded to the 11th grade pupil of the ASPU Base College Armineh Mkhitaryan, the second prize went to the 10th grade pupils of the Secondary School of Lernanist, and the third prize was given to the 11th grade pupil of the Yerevan High-School N189 Anna Mirzoyan.
The first prize among the BA students was awarded to the 2nd year student of the Department of Sociology Sona Khachatryan, the 2nd prize went to the student of the same Department Anna Hayrapetyan, and the third prize was received by the 4th year distant-learning student of the same Department Mariam Markosyan.
The first prize among the MA studnets was awarded to the first year student of the Department of Geography, Shoushan Abovyan, the second prize went to the first year student of the Department of Social Pedagogy Anahit Adamyan, and the 3rd prize went to the second year student of the Department of Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology Mery Kochinyan.
Likewise, awards and certificates were also distributed to students and pupils winning in the nominations of the “Best Orator”, “Best Performance”, “Double Success”, “Best Speech” etc.
The Head of the Chair of Professional Education and Applied Pedagogy, Professor Aida Topuzyan highlighted the importance of organising the annual Olympiad, as well as drew attention to the novelty of the year to include the high-school pupils in the competition too. Besides, the Professor was happy to also note that the number of the participants of the competition had grown; the high index of participation of high-schoolers was particularly motivating.
“On the last stage the pupils referred to educational or school issues, the BA students made analysis of pedagogical situation, and the MA students read sermons on such topics as “Every Child has the Right to Live”, “Every Child is an Individual”, or “A Child is a Human Being and a Friend”, Aida Topuzyan concluded and congratulated the participants and the winners.
The Vice –Rector for Academic Affairs Srbouhi Gevorgyan congratulated the participants and outlined that involvement in this competition gave an opportunity to first of all fill in communication requirements.
“You obtained friends, knowledge, updated your scope of interests, which will give you the chance to participate in other Olympiads and competitions”, mentioned Vice-Rector Gevorgyan.
Further on, one of the initiators of the Olympiad Gayaneh Aghzumtsyan emphasized that the already traditional Olympiad had a great role in the professional development of studnets and that participation therein was already a victory.
“The Olympiad reflected the level of knowledge of the participants, their unique mentality, research skills and creativity, ability and capacity to make individual decisions”, mentioned Gayaneh Aghzumtsyan and turning to the participants, she assured that success and accomplishments also belong to teachers and lecturers.
In her turn the Director of the Secondary School N104 Naira Martirosyan added that the University event served its purpose and added that they would try to eliminate the errors and gaps occurred in the working process for the following year.
“The school organises Olympiads on different subjects, but this was a new breath and the pupils were greatly inspired to participate. Their reports about pedagogy both surprised and amazed us. I would really like for each and every employees in the sphere of pedagogy to get familiarised therewith; they could have essential impact on educational system”, mentioned the Director of the APSU secondary school Naira Safaryan.
