KHACHATUR ABOVYAN ARMENIAN STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

An electronic billboard entitled “Tour through Yerevan Museums” has been placed at Zvartnots Airport upon the initiative of the Armenian National Committee of International Council of Museums (ICOM) and izi.TRAVEL international organization. It enables smartphone and tablet users to download the free izi.TRAVEL app and get complete information about museums in Yerevan. The app contains audio guides for different museums in the Armenian capital (https://izi.travel/ru/7b98-shrjayts-erewani-t-angarannerov/hy).
Young members of the ICOM Armenia, as well as Marianna Manucharyan, a representative of the ASPU Museum, and Arusyak Ghazaryan, an ASPU graduate and a researcher at the Charents Museum of Literature and Arts, provide ‘visitors’ with online information about the museums in Yerevan. Let us mention that that programme is implemented on a voluntary basis and is aimed at increasing interest in museums.

The organizers plan to include all museums in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, thereby deepening interest in museums in Armenia. The app is available in 60 languages in 72 countries and has a flexible system to track statistics.
