April 2 is the World Autism Awareness Day; the awareness building activities of the society are held throughout the whole month. Within that scope, by the initiative of lecturers of the Pedagogical University’s Chair of Logopaedics and Rehabilitation Therapy Anna Charchyan, Alvina Hayrapetyan and Emilia Tadevosyan a flesh-mob was organized at the University today.
The event kicked-off by letting fly blue balloons symbolizing the “indigo –children”, which were decorating the University’s building, afterwards the students made the passers –by involved in their activity on every floor.
“Autism is a neurological disorder that is mainly being identified during the first three years’ of children’s life. The main reasons for the cause of autism are not clearly known yet; it still remains a core topic and to be research by the specialists”, mentioned Alvina Hayrapetyan.
She noticed that in this regards the public awareness is also significant as well as once again drawing their attention to the issues of children with autism- these were the aims of the initiatives organized within the framework of internship.
This year the motto of the awareness building was “You are not alone”. The participants of the flesh –mob finalised the puzzle with their hands dyed in blue and formed the above-mentioned expression thus, reminding that they are remaining next to children with autism.
