The Pedagogical University Museum, jointly with the Historical-Cultural Reserve –Museums and Historical Sights Protection Service, organized “Young Museologist” group course.
The course was designed for 7-9 grade students of Etchmidadzin and Armavir towns. The aim of the initiative was to expand the young people’s interest towards Museums, culture and arts, to introduce them to the activities of the sphere, guide them in choosing future profession.
The classes were conducted by the students of the Faculty of Culture, Department of Museology, the ASPU Museum Employees and the 1st year MA students within the scope of their internships.
A few days ago the results of the courses were summarised; for the most responsible students excursions were organized to the ASPU Museum and the Garni Temple.
The visit to the Museum was also accompanied by the ceremony of awarding diplomas to the participants of the “Young Museologist “club by both institutions that undertook the initiative.
For the professional orientation of the students a meeting with the Deans and lecturers of different Faculties was organized by the initiative of the Museum at the University; the speakers introduced the activities of their Faculties and their professional specifications.
The participants left the University greatly excited and impressed.
The “Young Museum” club is having its first result: many students have already made decision to become the students of the Pedagogical, while one of them is already an ASPU applicant.
