“ARMENIAN LANGUAGE FOR BEGINNERS”
The course aims to improve communication skills and teach students to read, write, and speak Armenian. The course spans a total of 120 hours (4 credits) and, upon completion, learners will be at the А1 level of proficiency. It is divided into three stages. Each stage focuses on developing reading, writing, and speaking skills, with grammar knowledge integrated into practical speech patterns. As students progress through each stage, they build upon and deepen their understanding of the material from the previous stage. The course also incorporates cultural themes, enabling students to gain some understanding of Armenia, Armenian culture, and traditional practices.
Learning Armenian Sounds and Letters: In this part of the course, students will become familiar with the sounds and letters of the Armenian language.
Reading Practical Dialogues: Students will read short dialogues commonly encountered in everyday life. These dialogues will revolve around topics like "About Me," "My Family," "My Friend," "Shopping," "On the Street," "Food," and more.
Vocabulary Expansion: Around 200 words will be introduced, categorized into semantic groups such as numbers, colors, time, weather, food, transportation, and others.
Basic Speech Patterns: The course will emphasize the introduction of the simplest speech patterns that learners can apply in various situations.
Grammar Essentials: Key grammar concepts will be taught, including noun stems, noun number, the definite article, verb usage in the present tense, imperative mood, quantitative data, adjectives, personal pronouns, interrogative pronouns, and more.
Upon completing this stage, students will have a foundational understanding of these language elements, enabling them to use them effectively in new scenarios and conversations.

Dialogues on everyday topics: "Travel," "Shopping," "To the Doctor," "To the Theater," and others.
Grammar: Noun Conjugations, Imperfect Tense, Past Perfect Tense, Imperfect Past Tenses, Degrees of Comparison of Adjectives, Classical Numbers, Relative Pronouns, Genitive and Infinitives of Personal Pronouns, Adverbs, Conjunctions, Complex Sentence Structures.
II stage
40 hours
- Adapted short stories. Poems.
- Dialogues on everyday topics.
- Proverbs, idioms.
- Songs.
Grammar. Regional tense, conditional future tense, past perfect tense. Conjugation of personal pronouns, reciprocal, indefinite, definite pronouns. Adverbs. Connections. Complex sentences.
