CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY
The goal of Cultural Anthropology course is to introduce students to anthropology as a research field and branch of science, the objectives of cultural anthropology, the types of cultural anthropology: biological, socio-cultural, historical, linguistic and applied; its theoretical and conceptual approaches, its research methods. The Cultural Anthropology course studies the evolution of human species that is the biological origin and development of humanity – anthropogenesis as well as the origin and development of history of society and culture – sociocultural genesis. The Cultural Anthropology course, as a very comprehensive and multi-disciplinary field of study, is to examine the formation and development of culture created by humanity; the patterns and peculiarities of human cultural development; understanding of the concept of culture; anthropology of religion, value systems, social institutions, and political and economic systems. The Cultural Anthropology course studies the typology of culture, cultural diversity (ethnical, language, religious, social, economic, political), kinship, marital and family relations, gender, ethnic and racial characteristics, cuisine, human traditions and customs, and rituals.
Bachelor Course for first year– specialization Culturology. 3 credits.
90 hours general from which 22 hours lectures, 8 hours practical lessons, 60 hours students’ independent work.
Bachelor Course for fourth year– specialization Culturology. 4 credits.
120 hours general from which 32 hours lectures, 16 hours practical lessons, 72 hours students’ independent work.
