PHILOSOPHY OF CULTURE

The goal of Philosophy of Culture course is to introduce the theoretical and historical understanding of culture to the student from the point of view of philosophy. In that sense, Philosophy of Culture is a philosophical reflection of the phenomenon of culture. The philosophy of culture is a philosophical disciple that first examines the relationship between culture, society and self. Taking into consideration the theoretical knowledge of culture and cultural studies, the philosophy of culture further deepens the basic concerns of culture and civilization. In a rapidly changing modern environment, the task is to clarify and be aware of the connections between the various social, technological and civilizational realities of humans. From this perspective, the philosophy of culture is called to discover through the internal capacities of a culture to be a guiding landmark for self-consciousness of man and to move to the philosophical comprehension of the one’s own identity.
