THE PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING DISABILITY AND LEGISLATIVE BASES IN RA

This course focuses on the analysis, study and interpretation of decisions, laws, concepts, as well as joint orders of the departments of the Republic of Armenia regarding disability issues.

The aim of the course is:

  • To promote and expand students' knowledge about the definitions of disability in the legislative field, as well as the reforms and current standards related to disability issues.
  • To inform and expand the students' knowledge about the principles, advantages and limitations of the multifaceted assessment of the person - the International Classification of Functions of the World Health Organization /WHO FMD/ model.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

To present and describe the features of physical and social adaptation of persons with disabilities and/or employment, life activity restrictions.

  • To recognize and justify the main approaches and principles of health, education and social management, the legislative framework related to the field of disability in RA.
  • To design professional self-education, further career paths, being aware of the special concepts related to the continuous changes taking place in the special education, social and health sectors of RA.
  • To select and justify the importance of knowledge regarding the physical and social limitations of persons with disabilities and/or employment, life activity limitations in the process of increasing the effectiveness of ergotherapy works and to acquire knowledge about the reforms taking place in the educational, social, health and urban development systems of RA.
  • To apply information and communication technologies in order to solve professional problems and conduct research.
